International real estate firm CBRE will have a new leader in Canada in 2019 as Mark Renzoni steps down as president and CEO.

He will be succeeded by current leader of the firm’s GTA business Werner Dietl, a former industrial broker who joined the CBRE leadership team in 2014.

“Werner has a deep understanding of the real estate services industry and is a champion of CBRE’s culture and people,” said Mike Lafitte, CBRE’s Global CEO, Advisory Services. “He will be an outstanding leader for our Canadian business, who will build on our success as the market leader across the country.”

Successful leadership is about inspiring people
Lafitte paid tribute to the outgoing leader Mark Renzoni, who will remain a director of CBRE through 2019.

“He has led us to strong growth and exceptional client service and been a mentor and advocate for our next generation of leaders,” he said.

Renzoni added that he was very proud of the firm’s achievements under his stewardship.

“Successful leadership is about inspiring people and creating a runway for new ideas and opportunities,” he said. “It’s the right time to empower the next generation of leaders and CBRE Canada is well positioned for continued growth and innovation under Werner’s strong leadership.”
