Looking To Invest In The Square One District Area?

Last Updated on October 24, 2023 by Kandace Gallant

If you’re looking to snag a condo in the heart of Mississauga, then you’re in luck. The Square One District Condos are launching their first tower with unit sizes ranging from 425 to 872 square feet. This was one of the most ambitious and sought-after development proposals in the downtown hub in Mississauga. With the initial launch being introduced in January, there are already units up for sale on Connect.ca. There will be 977 units in total for sale and 539 in the first tower, so your dreams of investing and owning a condo in the Rathburn Road and Confederation Parkway area are about to come true.

Did You Know?

This will be one of the largest mixed-use downtown developments in Canadian history with a 130-acre piece of land neighbouring the infamous Square One Shopping Centre (which includes 360 stores that cater to every need).

The Development

“Residents will enjoy the finest area amenities within convenient walking distance and include popular landmarks like Square One for shopping, Cineplex Odeon for the latest blockbuster, the Living Arts Centre for live theatre, Sheridan College’s Hazel McCallion Campus for learning something new, Playdium for gaming galore as well as the YMCA for fun-filled activities,” The Square One District Condos website states. “Plus, those who travel will have convenient access to Mississauga Transit, GO Transit, Highways 403, 401 and 407.”

The condo development is estimated to finish in the summer of 2024 and will encompass all amenities required for families of all ages. As the Square One District Condominiums states, state-of-the-art amenities will include:

  • A walking score of 87/100 and transit score of 67/100
  • Within distance of Sheridan College and the University of Toronto’s Mississauga Campus
  • Conveniently located near Highway 403, 401 and 407
  • Near parks – Cleary Park, Queen II Jubilee Garden and Zonta Meadows
  • Near schools for children of all ages – nursery schools, post-secondary education and colleges/universities

In-class amenities will include:

  • Community urban garden plot and studio
  • Fitness centre that includes a half-court gym and climbing wall
  • Lounge that expands into an outdoor sitting area
  • Media room
  • Dining studios and catering kitchen
  • Indoor and outdoor kids’ area that includes a homework space, craft area, active zone and toddler area
  • 24-hour concierge in lobby

The Developer

The developer is just as impressive as the community and in-class amenities. Oxford Properties Group, which owns Square One Shopping Centre, is in partnership with Alberta Investment Management Corporation, its development partner. They’ve teamed up with The Daniels Corporation for phase I of the project. Together, their main goal is to assist with the housing shortage in the GTA which is why they also plan to (eventually) develop 18,000 units in total, all of which will include residential units, office space, commercial units, and be served by local transit and the Hurontario LRT.

For over 35 years now, The Daniels Corporation has built over 30,000 award-winning homes, apartments, mixed-use communities, and commercial and retail spaces. They’ve played a tremendous role in the development of the infamous Toronto’s Eaton Centre and Toronto Dominion Centre, and now, The Square One District Condominiums. The Oxford Property Group partners with groups who share the same visions in order to develop new, sustainable, mixed-use districts to create a stronger economy in cities like Toronto, New York, London, San Francisco, Singapore, and Sydney.
